Lexile Levels

The Lexile measure of a book refers to its text difficulty only. Lexile measures are based on two well-established predictors of how difficult a text is to comprehend: word frequency and sentence length.

The Lexile scale ranges from 200L for a beginning reader to 1700L for advanced texts. Lexile measures do not translate specifically to grade levels or correlate to reading incentive programs such as Reading Counts or Accelerated Reader.

You can search the SUNLINK database using a range (600-750, books like A Baby Sister for Frances, Holes, and Bunnicula) or a specific level (1240, books like The Midwife's Apprentice).
